Tradition, Transition, Trust
Hello!
My name is Shari Aldrich and I’m the new owner
of
Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage of Olympia WA. Change in ownership can be scary – but
I’d like to share with you my thoughts on just how successful the transition
has been with Bodymechanics School.
Tradition
Bodymechanics has been in Olympia since 1999 and has lived
by the motto:
"At Bodymechanics, we are Creating Exceptional Massage Therapists™...
Come and learn to Change Lives,
One Massage at a Time"
In fact, we’ve excelled! I’m proud of the reputation of our massage program and the
success of our graduates. Bodymechanics graduates are commonly hired by chiropractors, clinics, or
spas. We also have a high number
of graduates excelling in private practices. This tradition continues under new ownership!
The Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage has
long offered an advanced massage therapy program that specializes in deep
tissue massage, structural bodywork, injury treatment, medical and sports
massage therapy.
The Bodymechanics School of Myotherapy & Massage
provides an advanced education in its core curriculum that is recognized for
Creating Exceptional Massage Therapists. If you are comparing massage schools
and are looking for an exceptional education, take a closer look at the
Bodymechanics School and see what our exceptional massage school can offer
you.
Transition
In December 2009, Shari Aldrich, LMP began managing the
school and became the owner in July 2010. Transitions can be tough on any business. But, it helps when the new owner has been involved before
the transition.

I am a graduate of the program in 2006, and was hired as an instructor soon after graduation and became a lead instructor in 2007. I have taught close to 200 students at Bodymechanics in Olympia.
The economic climate in the US forced the previous owner to close the school in June 2009 – placing it in hiatus until the economy turned around for the better. I was excited to be able to reopen the school in December 2009, bringing it to our current location in Bristol Court, west Olympia.
The facilities are smaller, which actually work to the school’s advantage! Class size is limited to 16 students, which allows for more personal attention for all students!
I’ve hired a fantastic team to work with me – teachers and assistants. Please read about them on the staff page.
The curriculum remains mostly unchanged from its previous renditions. Some tweaking of the schedule has produced a program that lives up to the hype of providing an “advanced massage therapy program…” Internship opportunities for specialized injury treatment are available for those who want more detailed focus on injury work.
Trust
You can trust Bodymechanics to live up to its promise – you will be an exceptional therapist, you will change lives. I’d like to add a new promise – you can trust that Bodymechanics will teach you to be a critical thinker in regards to bodywork. We teach techniques and theory related to the treatment of clients you will face in your own practice.
You can trust that my vision for Bodymechanics continues to evolve with the addition of programs in the near future – such as equine massage and a nutrition program component. Our program is strong and it’s here to stay!
I look forward to meeting you soon and discussing your goals towards becoming a licensed massage practitioner in Washington.
